In 1945, from February 28 through December 1, Seaman 1st Class Joseph B. Chicco kept a secret journal. The entries detail life on board the U.S.S. Mobile in the South Pacific, most notably during the Battle of Okinawa. Between Feb 28 and Dec 1, 2010, I'll post his journal entries here.
