26 _____ Not much doing up to 10.00 _ Dope going around is that Germany has surrendered but by the mornings news there was still fighting over there. We passed close to (E_____ ) about 330 this morning. It was raining up to 10.00 _ time went back another half hour at 1900 (7:00)
(time) 1 day & 6 hours different then W Coast.

Germany didn't surrender until early May.

E = probably Eniwetok Island, about halfway between Hawaii and Okinawa.
